Short: Great grab using the new MagicMenu and VisualPrefs Author: whiskas@amigascne.org (Daniel Hansen) Uploader: whiskas amigascne org (Daniel Hansen) Type: pix/wb Version: 3.0 (03.02.1999) Architecture: generic - VisualPrefs now supports bitmap gadgets, something which I've taken advantage of. ;) - I've changed my two big Birdie patterns to include a special dark, "sunken-in" field for the window title. I've also stopped using the hi/truecolor shading of the window edges, since it ate up my memory. To compensate for this, I made the egdes less visible, narrowing them down to just one pixel, and giving both bright and dark edges a black colour. (The highlighted edges to the left/top is a part of the Birdie pattern). I like the result, many windows look much better now, more "free". :p - I'm using the new beta of MagicMenu, that gives a nice dark shade instead of raster, on hi/truecolor screens. - Last grab ("Whiskas-Opus2.jpg") also had a golden ball as a close requester, but I made that happen using Birdie. Not a very elegant solution, to say the least; so now that VisualPrefs is able to take care of that job in a great way, I'm letting it do just that. - The programs you see in this screengrab, are * Birdie 1.5 (patterns in window frames) * Directory Opus Magellan II * Dashboard (All my counters and meters), a part of Executive * MagicMenu 2.23 beta * SongPlayer 1.52 * STRICQ 0.1173 * VisualPrefs 1.5 beta #2 and FullPalette 40.21 * WebVision 2.0 The SongPlayer design is made in a hurry, but included since it uses custom (read size-dependant) patterns (I use the same technique for achieving the smoothed effect (a zoom blur) on my number in STRICQ.
