NetPar is a network printing package for the
Amiga. It works with any bsdsocket.library compatible
protocol stack (i.e. AmiTCP and Miami) with a InetD
daemon. It includes both Server and Client side software.

NetPar is Amiga specific at this release. Future
releases will be RFC-1179 complient (Unix Line Printer
Daemon Protocol) and (?maybe?) Samba complient. Please
read below announcement if you need RFC-1179 complience.

NetPar Client at this time, cannot be used with a
Network ready printer. Sorry for any time wasted trying
out my program.

ANNOUNCEMENT (Actually a cry for help).
======================================================

After multiple request from users, I am going to
start working on the lpr/lpd portion of the code. Due to
to the complexity of the program, I have decided to release
the lpr/lpd NetPar in two steps.

Step #1) Aminet Release 2.0

Write a very basic lpr Client. Client will have
very few options since this release is mainly for
the server. Server side will include a Server
Preferences program (In GadTools ... for now) to
allow the user to configure the server on the
fly. Server side spooling will also be included as
         well as multiple printer setups.

Expected release time is around the middle of March 98.

Step #2) Aminet Release 2.1

Barring any major bugfixes with the server, now I
will work in the client. Add spooling to client.
Re-write the printer preferences program to allow
for local printing as well as network printing.

No Expected Release time until Step #1 is complete.

I am expecting to have a working version of the basic lpr
client in the next two weeks. I have a few volunteers to
test this program but I am opening up this offer to everyone.
If you want to test lpr NetPar client, just send me an
e-mail and I will ship you a copy of the lpr NetPar Client
as soon as it is ready for testing. With it, you should
be able to print with any RFC-1179 complient Network Ready
printer as well as any lpd Unix Boxes ...You will also be
able to influence the final NetPar product and get your
name mentioned in the NetPar AmigaGuide docs......

Thanks......
