Short: JamMail - An Amiga FidoNet/UUCP Frontend Author: jam@jammys.net (James McOrmond) Uploader: jam jammys net (James McOrmond) Type: comm/fido Replaces: jm960227.* Architecture: m68k-amigaos What is JamMail? JamMail is a network frontend system, for Amiga computers running at least AmigaDos 2.04 (Kickstart 37.175). It handles FTS1, Wazoo, EMSI and UUCP type networking sessions. FTS1, Wazoo and EMSI are the handshaking methods used for FidoNet Technology type networks. UUCP sessions are handled by launching a standard UUCICO program, available in packages such as AmigaUUCP, or wUUCP. To Contact the author James McOrmond. Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Sudbury, Ontario, Canada K1S 2H9 P3A 2R5 For those with FTP access, we now have our own Jam support directory. ftp birch.mathstat.uottawa.ca (137.122.49.62) in the /JAM directory. New archives are now automatically sent to birch. Every so often, one of these archives will be sent up to AmiNet as well. I'd like to remind people that the JamMail FAQ is included in the archive. - work on JamPhone GUI, JamMail Cfg GUI and JamMail Mailer GUI will likely hold up future versions for a while. - One note for some people that seemed to have missed this point. JamFlow does *NOT* use the jamscan.cfg file. jamscan.cfg is only used by JamScan, so if you are no longer running jamscan, you do not need jamscan.cfg. Changes - Feb 26th, 1996 - POLL command now uses default domain system as well. - doing some more work on public screen stuff.. - new "jammail.pic" included now that "JamMail" is on its own screen now. This is how it currently looks on my system. - ACK!!! I can't belive this. Over two years into development, and inbound UUCP sessions weren't async. Outbound has been for a while! This should allow the scheduler to continue dialing out on other lines while there's an inbound UUCP session on one line. Changes - Feb 21st, 1996 - UUCICO options fields raised in length (to 79 characters). Changes - Feb 14th, 1996 - Changes in inbound emsi banner stuff, should make things look a little better and possibly work faster. - small changes for wpl.library and emsi.library to fix "FTN" defaults.
